Ski Resort Description

Davos

Davos, a bustling town just up and over from the more genteel Klosters, is set in a spectacular valley, with great views all around. Davos, most famous these days for hosting the annual World Economic Forum, is a friendly town – the highest in Europe -  offering 300km of world-class skiing. There are six different areas, with skiing for all levels, easily accessible by an efficient and frequent bus and train system. The linked Davos and Klosters region, with more than 200 miles of skiing, includes the celebrated Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn, Pischa, Gotschna and Madrisa. The extensive Parsenn area, with upwards of a hundred pistes, and exceptionally long runs all the way down to Serneus and Küblis, nine miles away, is the key to the heart of the Davos-Klosters skiing, and the location for the legendary annual Parsenn Derby race. Non-skiers can enjoy winter-walking, ice-skating, sledging and excursions. Experience the thrill of an ice hockey match and watch 30 times Swiss champions "Hockey Club Davos". The resort offers a good choice of mountain restaurants, such as 'Schwendi' at Parsenn, which serves local speciality dishes. In the evenings, the town’s “Promenade” (main street) is popular for a pleasant stroll, and lined with many cosy bars and cafés.
