Ski Resort Description

Grindelwald

This traditional mountain village is set amidst spectacular scenery at the foot of the towering north face of the Eiger. Easy access via mountain train, gondola and cable-car to the ‘Jungfrau’ ski region including the pistes linking Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen means that you can tackle the challenging Lauberhorn race run, have lunch in Wengen, and be home in time for tea. Or spend the day cruising the long red runs at ‘First’, Grindelwald’s own ski area. Non-skiers have fantastic winter walking possibilities with the non-skiers lift pass, whilst the friendly village has numerous shops, bars and cafés.

New improved access to Männlichen and the ski area.

Grindelwald-Männlichen (GGM)

With the modern gondolas for up to ten people the journey to the top station at 2225 metres above sea level, takes only 19 minutes instead of 30 minutes. The Berner Oberland-Bahnen (BOB) trains now stop at the new Grindelwald Terminal station with the direct link to the new GGM-valley station. With the Männlichen aerial gondola, guests can enjoy improved first part of the new V-Cableway valley station terminal.

Eiger Express

The new Eiger Express cableway takes you from the Grindelwald terminal to the Eiger Glacier station in just 15 minutes. Shortening the journey to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe by 47 minutes. More time to experience the majestic backdrop with breathtaking views at 3,454 metres above sea level and enjoy attractions such as the Ice Palace, Alpine Sensation and Snow Fun Park.

The state-of-the-art 26-seat cabins will take you very close to the north face of the Eiger, 1,800 metres high with a fascinating view of the mountains.
